Your Faith Level

12 Feb

We have many things that come against us in our lives.  There are always things that want to tear us down, destroy our lives, take away our joy, and rob our freedom.  We know that the enemy of our souls wants to do this more than anything else.

I have just read another blog from an amazing youth pastor in the United States.  His name is Joel Stockstill.  His wife (Amy) of just a few years passed away yesterday from cancer.  It is difficult to understand what God is doing in this circumstance.  There were thousands of people who were praying for her restoration, and it didn’t happen (at least here on this earth).  We know that she is completely restored because she is with the Father now!

But, what is our level of faith in this life?  How do we respond to difficult situations?  How can we respond with faith especially when it seems like God might not answer?

Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were Daniel’s three friends.  They would not bow down to the king’s statue, so they were threatened and later thrown into the fiery furnance.  We know that God saved them and the king ended up glorifying God as a result.  But, before they were thrown into the furnace, they had a faith filled response.  They knew that they were about to die, but their answer shows their true faith.

In Daniel 3:16-18, it says,

16 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego replied, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you. 17 If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God whom we serve is able to save us. He will rescue us from your power, Your Majesty. 18 But even if he doesn’t, we want to make it clear to you, Your Majesty, that we will never serve your gods or worship the gold statue you have set up.”

We must believe that God CAN answer and WILL answer.  But, at the end of it all, we must put our complete hope and trust in God, even when it seems that He WON’T answer.  We can never fully understand God’s ways, but we can fully trust Him, because He gave His life for us.

So, what is your level of faith?  Let it rise up.  If you don’t believe God can answer, start to believe it.  If you believe God can answer, but won’t answer, start believing that He will answer!  And, if all hope seems lost, continue to put Your trust and hope in Him, and God will have His way.

Let your faith rise!
