Preparation is important.
Too much preparation can slow down the process and can be a sign of fear. Too little preparation can disrupt the process and can be a sign of laziness.
But we must prepare. As my wife and I have been in the process of planting CityLife Church, we have focused on preparation. Some have wondered why we don’t start services immediately every week. After all, isn’t that what a church is supposed to do?
We met every week for three months with our core team before our first information meeting. It will take two months to go from our first info meeting to the first official service . 5 months of preparation before weekly services begin.
I am not naive. There will always be problems. Some problems will only be addressed once we launch. But, I don’t want to be dumb either. We can avoid many problems and pitfalls simply by preparing well beforehand.
Any good plan takes time to hatch and come to fruition. So, we will be prepared.
The question for your own life is this: Are you prepared for what you do?
