Deuteronomy 1:8 states, “Look, I am giving all this land to you! Go in and occupy it, for it is the land the LORD swore to give to your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and to all their descendants.”
Moses wrote down these words that God had given to the people of Israel thousands of years ago.
Notice that God gives us promises, but we are required to do something. While God is the one who accomplishes His word to us, we must also take action.
In this case, Israel had been promised a bunch of land by God, but they needed to go in and OCCUPY it.
What is it that God has promised you? Are you waiting on the sidelines instead of entering in to where God wants you to be?
If you are in a position of leadership (in family, business, ministry, or the community), are you “occupying” your position, leveraging every opportunity to serve those around you?
Are you occupying the gifts that God has given to you, leveraging resources to make an impact in the world around you?
If not, it’s not too late.
Remember: You will LOSE what you don’t USE!
Let’s use every opportunity to make a difference in the world around us!
